Because Shirer writes about Gandhi from the point of view of a young modest middle class American involved for the first time in a culture totally unlike his own, he makes Gandhi and his thought accessible to many of us, with the same middle-class, middle-America background.
It gave a first person account of Ghandijiand his thinking.
happy with transaction-arrived as described
easy reading, as I had three books from the Library. I like the Shirer book best. since it was my turn for book club, i recommended this particular book. We forget , in time, some of the important men.
This book was very well written and actually gives one a sense on being in India during the time of Gandhi.
